September 28, 2002: Budweiser ArrowFest 2002 rocked! Featuring a stage and crowd twice as big as 2001 at the beautiful Queen Mary Events Park in Long Beach, the show kicked off at 12:45pm with Arrow 93's house band The Answer and newcomers Green Vinyl Dream. Then, even as a rain squall rolled in off the Pacific ocean, the Edgar Winter Band ripped through some Boogie & Blues. As the skies cleared, Blue Oyster Cult took the stage, and, as singer Eric Bloom had promised on air with Uncle Joe Friday morning, they blew everybody away! One long time fan observed that they didn't just roll out the hits, they played all of their cool stuff (and guitarist Buck Dharma was incredible!). Next up, singer/bassist C.F. Turner was in classic form as B.T.O. got the 10,000 on hand dancing. Then Jim Belushi & The Sacred Hearts did a great blues revue in the Blues Brothers tradition. In the end, the night belonged to Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo who came out rocking and took everyone through a full range of emotions and music - even perfoming the event's first acoustic numbers as the lights of Long Beach twinkled across the bay. The whole Arrow 93 crew was on hand and on air, with Unc, Mary Price, Chris Taylor, and Maggie McKay bouncing around the stage like kids in a candy shop!
