Uncle Joe Benson at 24th Annual KLOS Blood Drive — August 6, 2005.
August 6, 2005: It was the last day of the 24th Annual KLOS Blood Drive and Uncle Joe was rocking at the brand new Red Cross Donor Center in Pomona! Cool shirts and cookies were plentiful, as were tickets to see Ozzfest or Tom Petty. When all was said and done, KLOS and its listeners collected 6,578 pints of blood in this year's 3-day Blood Drive, beating the previous national record of 6,250 which was set by us last year over a 4-day period. More importantly, the Red Cross said that shelves that had been empty are now filled with the gift of life, thanks to the KLOS family of listeners who rolled up their sleeves!
