Uncle Joe Benson at the 2004 Nissan Z Convention. June 17/19, 2004: The 17th Annual "Z Car" Convention hosted by GroupZ was a screaming success. With Unc busy on the air, his longtime co-driver, Bob "Fireball" Spencer, piloted the Jim Sleeper-prepared Uncle Joe's Nissan 300ZX Thursday at Willow Springs Raceway. Even with racing celebrities like Bob Bondurant and Steve Millen on hand, "Fireball" was running fast and looking sharp. The Convention itself culminated with a car show on Saturday at the Nissan North American Headquarters in Gardena. Nissan's legendary designer Mr. "K" (Yutaka Katayama – the "Father of the Z") was on hand, and a good old fashioned Uncle Joe Meet & Greet took place. (Photos by Bill McDermott.)    Track Day!
