Uncle Joe Benson at the 2001 NHRA Finals. The 2001 NHRA Automobile Club of So. California Finals Drag Race at the Fairplex in Pomona is history. The Uncle Joe's Meet & Greet sessions Saturday and Sunday at the ARROW 93 booth were a blast, and people were amazed to see Uncle Joe's Racing Nissan 300ZX at an NHRA event. Randy Balough's newly painted Uncle Joe's Racing 1957 Corvette and Scott Hall made an all too rare appearance with his Uncle Joe's Racing Super Comp Dragster. Sunday's Meet & Greet And how about that Uncle Joe/Titus grudge match Sunday afternoon! Well, actually that was pretty much rained out. Next to Kenny Bernstein and Warren Johnson winning their sixth NHRA Winston Championships in the final rounds Sunday, the Unc/Titus match was no doubt the most highly anticipated event of the weekend. (Remember, J.B. beat Fox TV's Christopher Titus in a heads-up race Frank Hawley's Drag Racing School dragsters in July.) Even when their Sunday morning practice session was rained out, the match race still looked good to go. Alas, late Sunday afternoon when the lads pulled up to the line after a single practice pass, the NHRA pulled the plug. Now there will be a heavy cloud of unfinished business hanging over the entire off-season!  J.B. and Titus discuss some really important stuff.    Truly, the biggest part of drag racing is waiting.
