Uncle Joe Benson at the 2002 AMA Superbike California Speedway Race.
April 6-7, 2002: Uncle Joe announced the first ever Yamaha AMA Superbike Challenge at the California Speedway in Fontana. The weekend featured Rounds Two and Three of the AMA Chevy Trucks U.S. Superbike Championship presented by Parts Unlimited schedule. Saturday's main event (after the rain) was the Yamaha West Region Dealers 100k and Sunday's was the Yamaha 100k. J.B. was joined by AMA announcer John Fosgate in the booth for non-stop color commentary, and was last seen near Turn 12 trying to kick-start his moped. With an estimated 20,000 motorcycle fans in attendance, we had another beautiful race day in Fontana!
