Uncle Joe Benson at work & play at the 9/2003 IRL California Speedway Race.
September 19-21, 2003: What a sizzler! Uncle Joe announced the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series American Racing Wheels 200 race and the Toyota Indy 400 IRL Race at the California Speedway in Fontana. It was a record-setting weekend, both with the 113 degree temps and with Sam Hornish Jr.'s 207.151mph average race speed — the fastest closed-course race ever, breaking Jimmy Vassar's record from last year at the California Speedway (which J.B. also called). Of course, even with speeds like that, yer Unc could only scoff, as that's nowhere near his record setting times just getting into work every morning.
